Power from the engine through the torque converter is transmitted to the input shaft of the planetary gearbox.
Gear shifting is accomplished by activating a specific combination of two controls that changes the speed of the output shaft.
Elements of the planetary gearbox
1. Forward clutch (WITH1) - connects the input shaft and the epicycle of the front planetary gear set.
2. Direct clutch (WITH2) - connects the input shaft and the sun gears of the front and rear planetary gear sets.
3. Reducer clutch (increasing) planetary gear (WITH3) - connects the sun gear of the reduction gear (increasing) planetary gear set and a reduction carrier (increasing) planetary row.
4. Brake providing engine braking mode in second gear (B1) - stops the sun gears of the front and rear planetary gear sets.
5. Second gear brake (IN2) - stops the outer ring of the freewheel #1, thus preventing the sun gear of the front and rear planetary gears from rotating counterclockwise.
6. First gear and reverse brake (IN3) - stops the carrier of the rear planetary gear set.
7. Downshift brake (IN4) - stops the buck sun gear (increasing) planetary row.
8. Clutch No. 1 freewheel (F1) - with the brake of the second gear B2, disables counterclockwise rotation of the front and rear sun gears.
9. Clutch No. 2 freewheel (F2) - prohibits the rotation of the carrier of the rear planetary gear set counterclockwise.
10. Downshift clutch (F3) - prohibits clockwise rotation of the sun gear of the reduction gear (increasing) planetary row.
