Rear suspension. 1 - lower spring insulator, 2 - spring, 3 - upper spring insulator, 4 - shock absorber, 5 - washer, 6 - pillows, 7 - limiter, 8 - pillow, 9 - washers, 10 - bushing, 11 - panhard rod, 12 - sleeve, 13 - longitudinal rod.
Spring and damper
Removing
1. Jack up the car, install support stands under the frame and put the jack under the rear axle housing.
2. Remove rear wheels.
3. Removing the shock absorber.
A) Raise the rear axle with a jack.
b) Unscrew the lower shock absorber mounting nut, remove the washer, limiter and pillow.
V) Disconnect the shock absorber from the rear axle, remove the washer and cushion from the shock absorber.
G) Loosen the upper shock absorber mounting bolt. Remove the shock absorber, then remove the washer and pads.
4. Turn away a bolt and a nut of fastening of draft Panhard. Disconnect the link from the rear axle and remove the bushing.
5. Using the special tool, compress the spring, then remove the spring along with the insulators.
Checking the operation of the shock absorber
1. When pressing the shock absorber, check the rebound stroke is even and there is no abnormal resistance or noise.
2. Compress the shock absorber to its full travel, then release it and check the rebound travel speed.
Installation
1. Installing the spring.
A) Install spring isolators.
b) Using the special tool, compress the spring and install it in place.
V) Jack up the rear axle.
G) Check the position of the lower insulator. If the insulator is installed incorrectly, then remove the spring and install again.
2. Connect the Panhard rod to the rear axle and temporarily tighten the nut and mounting bolt.
3. Installing the shock absorber.
A) Install the pads and washer, connect the shock absorber to the frame and tighten the mounting bolt.
Tightening torque - 64 N.m
b) Install the pad and washer to the shock absorber.
V) Connect the shock absorber to the rear axle, install the washer, limiter and cushion. Tighten the fastening nut.
Tightening torque - -31 N.m
4. Lower the vehicle and rock it up and down to stabilize the suspension.
5. Hang the rear axle of the car with a jack and install support stands under the axle.
6. Tighten the Panhard rod mounting nut.
Tightening torque - 250 N.m
Longitudinal bar
Removing
1. Jack up the car, install support stands under the frame and put the jack under the rear axle housing.
2. Removing the longitudinal bar.
A) Unscrew the nut securing the longitudinal rod to the vehicle frame.
b) Unscrew the two nuts securing the longitudinal rod to the rear axle.
V) Lower and remove the longitudinal bar.
Note: When replacing bushings in the trailing bar, install new bushings as shown.
Installation
1. Connect the longitudinal bar to the car frame, temporarily tighten the fastening nut.
2. Connect the longitudinal bar to the rear axle, temporarily tighten the fastening nuts.
3. Lower the vehicle and rock it up and down to stabilize the suspension.
4. Tighten the nut securing the longitudinal bar to the vehicle frame.
Tightening torque - 177 N.m
5. Tighten the two nuts securing the longitudinal bar to the rear axle.
Tightening torque - 245 N.m
Panhard rod
Removing
1. Jack up the car, install support stands under the frame and put the jack under the rear axle housing.
2. Removing the Panhard rod.
A) Loosen the fastening nut and disconnect the Panhard rod from the rear axle.
b) Loosen the nut securing the Panhard rod to the frame and remove the rod.
Note: When replacing the bushing in the Panhard rod:
- Do not apply grease to the bushing before pressing.
- When removing and installing the sleeve, make sure that the chamfer of the hole in the rod is directed upwards.
Installation
1. Jack up the car, install support stands under the frame and put the jack under the rear axle housing.
2. Connect the Panhard rod to the vehicle frame and temporarily tighten the fastening nut.
3. Connect the Panhard rod to the rear axle and temporarily tighten the fastening nut.
4. Lower the vehicle and rock it up and down to stabilize the suspension.
5. Hang out the back bridge of the car by means of a jack.
6. Tighten the Panhard rod mounting nuts.
Tightening torque - 250 N.m
Attention: before tightening the fastening nuts, lower the car to ensure the load on the rear axle.
