Removal

1. Remove the rear seat and storage tray trim.

2. Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Remove the wheel.

3. On vehicles equipped with an ABS system, remove the flexible hose and speed sensor from the shock absorber.

4. Disconnect the brake hose from the strut. On vehicles equipped with an ABS system, disconnect the wires from the wheel speed sensor.

5. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the strut.

6. Place a jack under the rear axle bracket.

7. Loosen the nuts of the strut-to-suspension bracket mounting bolts (arrows) and knock out the bolts. The bolts can only be knocked out after removing the nuts and jacking up the suspension bracket. Keep in mind that the strut is quite heavy and the work should be done by two people; an assistant should support the strut if necessary.

8. Unscrew the three nuts securing the upper strut to the body.

9. Lower the suspension bracket with a jack and remove the two bolts securing the strut to the bracket.

2. Insert the bracket into the flange of the rack, insert the bolts and screw on the nuts. Tighten the nuts to the specified torque.

3. Attach the stabilizer link to the strut bracket.

4. Attach the brake hose to the rack. On vehicles equipped with ABS, attach the wires to the speed sensor.

5. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.

6. Tighten the three upper strut mounting nuts to the specified torque.
