A) Using a reference speedometer, check the speedometer for error and check the operation of the odometer.
Note: When the tread is worn or the tire pressure is incorrect, the error in the speedometer readings increases.
Indication (km/h) | Valid Range (km/h) |
20 | 20-25 |
40 | 40-46 |
60 | 60-67 |
80 | 80-88 |
100 | 100-109 |
120 | 120-131 |
140 | 140-152 |
160 | 160-173 |
b) Check the speedometer for needle vibration and noise.
Note: Hand shaking may be caused by a loose speedometer cable.
2. Checking the speed sensor.
A) Check for continuity between terminals "A" And "IN", four times per revolution of the speedometer shaft.
b) If the sensor does not work as specified, replace the speedometer.
3. Checking the horn sensor for speeding.
A) Press the tabs and remove the instrument cluster glass from the housing.
Note: Be careful not to soil or damage the speedometer panel.
b) Move the speedometer needle to the division corresponding to 124 km / h and fix it in this position.
V) Rotate speedometer shaft: conduction between terminals "A" And "IN" should appear periodically.
4. Checking the overspeed horn. Periodically connecting the battery voltage to the horn terminals, check its performance.
Note: the sound of the signal will be distorted if its body is tilted.
