2. (7A-FE) Remove the left side of the engine guard.
3. Remove the timing belt.
4. (7A-FE) Remove the adjusting bar by unscrewing the 3 mounting bolts.
5. (4A-FE, 7A-FE) Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
6. Remove the oil dipstick from the guide by unscrewing the mounting bolt.
7. (4A-FE, 7A-FE) Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
8. Remove the crankshaft toothed pulley.
9. Install engine lifting hook No.1.
- Tightening torque - 28 Nm
10. Remove the timing belt tensioner roller.
11. (5A-FE and 4A-FE after 1994.) Remove the exhaust pipe with the catalytic converter.
11. (4A-FE before 1994.) Remove the exhaust downpipe from the exhaust center pipe.
12. (7A-FE) Remove the exhaust pipe.
a) Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter by unscrewing 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
b) Unscrew 2 nuts and remove the mounting bracket.
c) Unscrew 3 nuts and remove the exhaust pipe.
13. Remove the center beam.
a) Remove the plugs.
b) Unscrew 3 bolts and remove the shock absorber.
c) Unscrew 4 bolts and remove the central beam.
14. (4A-FE up to 1994) Remove the catalytic converter.
a) Unscrew 2 bolts and remove the bracket.
b) Unscrew 2 bolts and 2 nuts and remove the catalytic converter.
15. (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Remove the stiffener.
16. (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Remove the oil pan.
a) Unscrew 19 bolts and 2 nuts.
b) Insert a sharp blade between the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and the oil pan, cut off the seal and remove the oil pan.
Notes:
- - Be careful not to damage the tray flange.
- - Do not use this method when removing the oil pump and crankshaft end seal holder.
17. (7A-FE) Remove the lower part of the oil pan.
a) Unscrew the 13 mounting bolts.
b) Insert a sharp blade between the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and the oil pan, cut off the seal and remove the oil pan.
Notes:
- - Be careful not to damage the tray flange.
- - Do not use this method when removing the oil pump and crankshaft end seal holder.
18. (7A-FE) Remove the oil separator by unscrewing 2 nuts and 2 bolts.
19. (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Remove the oil receiver with the mesh filter by unscrewing 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
20. (7A-FE) Remove the oil receiver with the mesh filter by unscrewing the 3 nuts.
21. (7A-FE) Remove the upper part of the oil pan.
a) Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the upper part of the oil pump to the gearbox housing.
b) Unscrew 6 bolts.
c) Using the special tool, unscrew the 14 bolts and remove the upper part of the oil pan.
d) If the top of the oil pan cannot be removed, use a screwdriver as a lever as shown in the figure.
22. Remove the oil pump.
a) Unscrew 7 bolts.
b) (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Using a hammer, remove the stiffener and then remove the oil pump.
