2. (7A-FE) Remove the left side of the engine protection.
3. Remove the timing belt.
4. (7A-FE) Remove the adjusting bar by unscrewing the 3 mounting bolts.
5. (4A-FE, 7A-FE) Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
6. Remove the oil dipstick from the guide by unscrewing the mounting bolt.
7. (4A-FE, 7A-FE) Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
8. Remove a gear pulley of a cranked shaft.
9. Install the #1 engine lift hook.
- Tightening torque - 28 Nm
10. Remove the timing belt tensioner.
11. (5A-FE and 4A-FE after 1994) Remove the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.
11. (4A-FE until 1994) Remove a reception pipe of system of release with the central pipe of system of release.
12. (7A-FE) Remove a reception pipe of system of release.
A) Disconnect the downpipe from the catalytic converter by removing the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
b) Remove 2 nuts and remove mounting bracket.
V) Turn away 3 nuts and remove a reception pipe of system of release.
13. Remove the central beam.
A) Remove the plugs.
b) Remove 3 bolts and remove shock absorber.
V) Turn away 4 bolts and remove the central beam.
14. (4A-FE until 1994) Remove the catalytic converter.
A) Remove 2 screws and remove bracket.
b) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and remove the catalytic converter.
15. (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Remove the hardener.
16. (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Remove the oil pan.
A) Remove 19 bolts and 2 nuts.
b) Insert a sharp blade between the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and sump, cut the seal and remove the sump.
Notes:
- - Be careful not to damage the sump flange.
- - Do not use this method when removing the oil pump and crankshaft shank oil seal retainer.
17. (7A-FE) Remove the lower part of the oil pan.
A) Turn away 13 bolts of fastening.
b) Insert a sharp blade between the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and sump, cut the seal and remove the sump.
Notes:
- - Be careful not to damage the sump flange.
- - Do not use this method when removing the oil pump and crankshaft shank oil seal retainer.
18. (7A-FE) Remove the oil separator by unscrewing the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.
19. (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Remove the oil receiver with strainer by unscrewing 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
20. (7A-FE) Remove the oil receiver with the strainer by unscrewing the 3 nuts.
21. (7A-FE) Remove the top part of the oil pan.
A) Remove the 3 bolts securing the top of the oil pump to the gearbox housing.
b) Remove 6 bolts.
V) Using the special tool, remove the 14 bolts and remove the upper part of the oil pan.
G) If the top of the oil pan cannot be removed, use a screwdriver as a lever as shown in the illustration.
22. Remove the oil pump.
A) Remove 7 bolts.
b) (4A-FE, 5A-FE) Using a hammer, remove the stiffener, and then remove the oil pump.
