Examination
1. If cracks are found on the blades or impeller play on the shaft, replace the impeller.
2. Replace the coupling if a leak is found.
3. The coupling must be replaced if axial play of the impeller on the shaft is detected.
4. Check impeller rotation resistance.
5. If the impeller rotates freely or too tight, it should be replaced.
6. On a warm engine, a slight increase in resistance to rotation of the impeller is acceptable.
Removing
1. Turn away bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the fan shroud.
2. Remove drive belts.
3. Loosen the nuts (indicated by arrows) and remove the impeller assembly with fluid coupling from the pump shaft.
4. Loosen the nuts (indicated by an arrow) and remove the impeller from the fluid coupling hub.
5. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
