Radiator and related parts

Radiator
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. After the engine has completely cooled down, drain the fluid.
3. Disconnect the upper and lower hoses from the radiator.
4. Disconnect the reservoir hose from the radiator.
5. Remove the impeller.
6. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, disconnect the coolant pipes from the radiator.
7. Substitute a drip tray to collect spilled liquid, plug the fitting.
8. Turn away bolts of the central rack of a forward lattice.
9. Remove the two upper radiator mounting brackets. Loosen all mounting bolts (indicated by arrows) radiator.
10. Remove the radiator by lifting it up.
11. Check for leaks from the radiator, mechanical damage, cleanliness of internal channels.
12. If it is necessary to repair the radiator, contact a car service, as special equipment and technologies will be required.
13. Carefully clean the intercostal spaces of the radiator by blowing it with compressed air and cleaning it with a soft brush.
14. The radiator is installed in the reverse order.
15. After installing the radiator, fill in the fluid.
16. Start the engine and check for leaks.
17. Warm up the engine and check the coolant level again, top up if necessary.
18. On vehicles with automatic transmission, check the transmission fluid level and top up if necessary.
Expansion tank
1. On most vehicles, the reservoir is simply removed from a bracket located next to the battery. Take aside the tee from the tank (indicated by an arrow) and remove the tank from the bracket (right arrow).
2. Drain the liquid from the tank into the vessel, inspect the tank.
3. If signs of damage are found, replace the tank.
4. The tank is installed in the reverse order.
