1. The oil seal can be removed without dismantling the oil pan or crankshaft.

2. Remove the gearbox (transmission) (cm. subsection 7.1.2 or subsection 7.2.8).

3. Remove the clutch.

4. Remove the flywheel (leading disk).



5. Carefully pry up and remove the seal.

6. Clean and check the condition of the surface of the groove under the oil seal in the cylinder block and the crankshaft journal sealed by the oil seal. If deep wear is detected, replace the crankshaft.

7. Lubricate the working edges of the new seal with molybdenum grease, lubricate the outer edges with universal consistent grease.

8. Carefully place the oil seal on the crankshaft journal and press the oil seal in with a mandrel.

9. Then assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Install the transmission (see subsection 7.1.2 or subsection 7.2.8).
