Removing
1. Raise the car and make sure the car is well supported on the stands.
2. Drain engine oil
3. Remove the right and left sheet steel covers.
4. (With oil level sensor) Disconnect the oil level sensor connector, then remove the oil level sensor. If necessary, replace the oil level sensor by removing the protective element 1, the sensor 2 itself and the gasket 3.
1 - protective element,
2 - oil level sensor,
3 - gasket.
5. Remove the oil pan by unscrewing eighteen bolts.
Attention: when separating the pallet, do not damage its flange.
6. Remove the oil receiver screen by unscrewing the four bolts.
7. Remove the oil pump by unscrewing the mounting bolt.
Disassembly
1. Check the operation of the oil pump.
A) Lower the oil filter into the oil, turn the pump drive shaft clockwise with a screwdriver. Oil must flow out of the pressure port.
b) Close the pressure port of the oil pump with your finger and turn the drive shaft again. There should be significant resistance to turning.
2. Remove pressure reducing valve.
3. Turn away three bolts and remove a cover of the oil pump.
4. Remove the drive and driven gears and disassemble the pressure reducing valve by removing the plug 1, the spring 2 and the valve itself 3.
Examination
1. Check disassembled parts and assemblies for damage or wear.
2. Check the operation of the pressure reducing valve.
Check that the relief valve is not worn or scratched and moves freely in the bore. Apply a coat of engine oil to the relief valve and lower it into the pump bore. The valve should lower smoothly under its own weight.
Replace valve if necessary and (or) oil pump.
3. Check the drive and driven gears.
A) Measure the clearance between pump housing and driven gear with a feeler gauge.
- Nominal clearance - 0.10 -0.15 mm
- Maximum clearance - 0.20 mm
b) Check the end clearance of the oil pump as shown in the figure.
- Nominal clearance - 0.03-0.07 mm
- Maximum clearance - 0.15 mm
V) Measure the clearance between the lugs of the driving and driven gears as shown in the figure.
- Nominal clearance - 0.07 - 0.12 mm
- Maximum clearance - 0.20 mm
Assembly
1. Install the driving and driven gears according to the marks, as shown in the figure (The marks must face towards the oil pump housing).
2. Install the oil pump cover (oil receiver) and secure it with three screws.
- Tightening torque - 7.8 Nm
3. Install pressure reducing valve, spring, tighten plug.
- Tightening torque - 37 Nm
4. Check the operation of the oil pump
Installation
1. Install the oil pump.
Align the shaft shank of the centrifugal governor of the electronic ignition system (IA) with the slot of the oil pump drive gear and secure the pump with the bolt.
- Tightening torque - 18 Nm
2. Install the oil receiver strainer.
A) Install a new strainer O-ring.
b) Install and secure the two bolts securing the oil pump cover to the strainer.
- Tightening torque - 17 Nm
V) Install and tighten the two strainer-to-cylinder block bolts.
- Tightening torque - 12 Nm
3. Install the oil pan.
See page 30 considering the following:
A) The diameter of the applied sealant should be about 3 mm.
b) The oil pan is secured with eighteen bolts.
- Tightening torque - 13 Nm
4. (With oil level sensor)
Install the oil level sensor on a new gasket and secure it with four bolts. Fasten the protective element of the sensor with two bolts. Connect the connector to the sensor.
- Tightening torque - 5.4 Nm
Caution: Be careful not to drop the sensor or subject it to impact.
5. Attach the right and left sheet steel covers.
6. Lower the car.
7. Fill with oil.
8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
9. Check the oil level.
