Remove the cylinder head cover of cylinder bank No.2.
Remove 4 ignition coils.
Remove 4 spark plugs.
Disconnect 4 injector connectors.
Fig. 2.115. Installing the compression gauge
Insert compression tester 09992-00500 into the spark plug hole (fig. 2.115).
Open the throttle fully.
While turning the engine crankshaft with the starter, measure the compression.
Normal compression: 1300 kPa.
Minimum allowable compression: 1000 kPa.
Maximum permissible difference in compression values between cylinders: 100 kPa.
Note: The battery must be fully charged to achieve a minimum engine speed of 250 min⁻¹.
Note: Also check the compression in the remaining cylinders.
Note: Compression measurement operations should be performed as quickly as possible.
If the compression in the cylinder is too low, pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole, then measure the compression again.
Note: If the compression increases after adding oil, there is a high probability that the piston rings and/or cylinder bore are worn or damaged.
Note: If the pressure does not increase, the valve may be sticking or leaking, or the head gasket may be blown.
Connect 4 fuel injector connectors, install 4 spark plugs.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm.
Install 4 ignition coils
Install the cylinder head cover for cylinder bank No.2.
