(Electronic ignition system. Option with diagnostic socket).
Remove the connection terminal cover and connect the tachometer test lead to it.
1- Cover of the connecting terminal;
2 - Distributor;
3 - Wire.
(Electronic ignition system. Option without diagnostic connector). Connect the tachometer test lead to the terminal (black wire) distributor.
1 - Black wire;
2 - Wire;
3 - Distributor.
Warning: Never touch the tachometer lead or ignition coil leads to ground as this will damage the ignition coil and switch.
Some tachometers are not compatible with this ignition system, so you should check your tachometer for compatibility before using it.
2. (Standard ignition system). Check and, if necessary, adjust the angle of the closed state of the breaker contacts.
- Rated value — 52±6°
3. (For double diaphragm variant in vacuum ignition timing controller).
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum ignition timing regulator and plug the end with a plug.
4. Adjust the ignition timing.
A) Measure the ignition timing at normal idle:
- Rated value - 8°to TDC
b) Loosen the distributor mounting bolt.
V) Set the desired ignition timing by turning the distributor housing.
G) Tighten the mounting bolt and check the ignition timing again.
- Tightening torque - 18 Nm
5. (For double diaphragm variant in vacuum ignition timing controller).
Connect a vacuum hose to the vacuum ignition timing regulator and check the ignition timing, the value of which at normal idle is:
- approximately - 20°to TDC
