The axle shafts are removed to replace the bearing, oil seal or remove the axle gearbox.
Removal and installation
1. Raise the rear of the car.
2. Remove the wheels, disconnect the handbrake cable and remove the drums.
3. Drain the gearbox oil.
4. Remove the gearbox rear cover.
5. Rotate gears of a reducer, establish the roller in an accessible position.
6. Turn away a bolt, get the roller and a dividing plug.
7. Ask an assistant to press the axle shaft and remove the lock plate from the groove of the axle shaft.
8. Remove the axle shaft while holding the canopy.
9. Check the condition of the bearing and seal.
10. If it is necessary to replace them, then remove the bearing together with the oil seal with an impact extractor with a double-jawed nozzle.
11. Before installing the axle shaft, lightly grease the lips of the oil seal with grease.
12. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
13. Tighten all fasteners to the specified torque.
14. Fill the gearbox with oil.
