Press the switch to heat or defrost the rear window.

The key must be in the "ON" position.

The thin heater wires on the inside of the rear window will quickly make the surface transparent. When the heater is operating, an indicator light will light up to indicate the heater is working.

Also, heating panels on the outside rearview mirrors will quickly make the mirror surfaces transparent.

Press the switch again to turn off the defroster.

After the glass heater has been running for about 15 minutes, the system will turn off automatically.

Make sure that the windshield heaters are switched off when the glass surfaces become transparent. Leaving the windshield heaters on for a long time can lead to the battery being discharged. Especially during stop-and-go driving. Windshield heaters are not designed to dry the glass from rainwater or to melt snow.

If the outside rearview mirrors are heavily iced, use a de-icer spray before operating the switch.
