Warning service indicators and beeps
(A) Brake Warning Light
This light signal has the following functions:
- parking brake applied reminder. If this light comes on, make sure the parking brake is fully released. The light signal should disappear;
- low brake fluid warning.
If this warning light comes on while driving, slow down and pull off the road. Then carefully stop the car. There may be a problem with the brake system. Check the fluid level in the tank you are viewing.
To verify that the parking brake is not the cause of the warning light, check that the parking brake is fully released.
If the brake fluid level is low, check the brakes in a safe place by starting and stopping. If the brakes are still functioning adequately, proceed carefully to a Toyota dealer or workshop for repair. If the brakes do not work, the vehicle should be towed to a repair shop.
(b) Low Battery Warning Light
This light signal warns that the battery is discharging. If the signal occurs while driving, the problem is somewhere in the charging system. However, the engine ignition will continue to operate until the battery is discharged. Turn off the air conditioner, fan, radio, etc., and go to your Toyota dealer or repair shop.
(With) Lubrication pressure drop warning light
This light warns that the engine oil pressure is too low. If the signal flashes or stays on while driving, pull off the road to a safe place and stop the engine immediately. Contact your Toyota dealer or repair shop for assistance.
The warning light may flash if the engine is idling or when stopped with heavy braking. There will be no cause for concern if the light signal goes out with a slight acceleration of the engine.
The warning light may come on when the oil level is extremely low. But since the signal is not intended to indicate a low oil level, you should periodically check the oil level using a bayonet level indicator.
(d) Low Engine Oil Warning Light
This indicator indicates that the engine oil level is too low. Add oils as soon as possible.
When driving on rough roads or steep slopes, or on zigzag roads, the vehicle may sway violently and this indicator may come on as a result of oil fluctuations.
(e) Low Fuel Warning Light
This light signal appears when the fuel level approaches zero. Fill the tank as quickly as possible. On slopes or zigzag roads, fluctuations in the fuel in the tank may cause the low fuel warning light to come on earlier than usual.
(f) Fault indicator light
This light warns that there is a malfunction in the electrical system of the engine. If it comes on while driving, have it checked/repaired by your Toyota dealer as soon as possible.
(g) warning light "ABS"
This indicator warns that there is a problem somewhere in the anti-lock braking system. If this indicator comes on while driving, have your Toyota dealer check it as soon as possible. This indicator comes on when the ignition key is in the "ON". After about 3 seconds, the indicator will turn off. If a warning light appears "ABS" (and the brake warning light does not come on), the brake system works normally, but the anti-lock brake system is unable to assist the braking function, so it is possible for the wheels to lock up during sudden braking or braking on slippery roads.
(h) SRS warning light
This indicator will come on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" or "ACC". After about 6 seconds, the indicator will turn off. This means that the airbag system and front seat belt retractors are working properly.
The warning light system monitors the front airbag sensors, airbag sensor assembly, seat belt retractor, airbag inflators, warning lights, internal wiring, power supplies.
If one of the following occurs, it means there is a problem somewhere in the components monitored by the warning light system. Have your Toyota dealer check your vehicle as soon as possible.
The indicator does not light up when the key is turned to the "ACC" or "ON".
Lights up or flashes during operation.
(i) Open door warning light
This light will not go out until all side doors and tailgate are fully closed.
(j) Tail light warning light
If the indicator light comes on when the headlights are on (at the first or second position of the switch), this means that one or more rear light bulbs are burned out.
(k) Sound signal of a reminder about not taken out key
This chime is a reminder to remove the key if you open the driver's door while the ignition key is in the "ACC" or "LOCK".
(l) Audible light reminder
This chime will sound if the headlight switch is left on and the driver's door is opened with the key removed from the ignition switch.
Service warning indicators to check (except for the low fuel warning light)
Apply the parking brake.
Open one of the doors. An open door warning light should appear.
Close the door. The door open warning light should turn off.
Turn the ignition key to position "ACC". The SRS warning light should come on. It will turn off after approximately 6 seconds.
Turn the ignition key to position "ON", but do not start the engine. All service warning lights, except for the open door warning light and the SRS warning light, must be on. warning light "ABS" will turn off after a few seconds.
If any of the service warning lights or beeps do not function as described above, either the bulb is burned out or the electrical circuit needs to be repaired. Have them checked by your Toyota dealer as soon as possible.
