Removal
Rear suspension hub fastener
1 – wheel speed sensor; 2 – rear suspension fastening element; 3 – support; 4 – hub; 5 – brake disc; 6 – O-ring round section
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the rear wheel.
2. Remove the rear brake drum or caliper and brake disc. On models with rear brake drums, disconnect the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder.
3. Remove the rear hub.
4. On models with rear drum brakes, remove the brake shield from the hub mounting. On models with rear disc brakes, remove the brake shield and handbrake assembly from the hub mounting. Using soft wire, tie the brake shield to the rear suspension spring.
5. On models with ABS, unscrew the wheel speed sensor from the hub mounting.
6. On models with a station wagon body, unscrew the restriction valve spring (LSPV) attachment nut.
7. Loosen the bolts securing the rear suspension strut to the rear hub mounting element.
8. Unscrew the bolts securing the longitudinal and transverse arms to the mounting element.
9. Completely unscrew the bolts securing the rear suspension strut to the rear hub mounting element and remove the rear hub mounting element.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
