Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
The location of the bolts of the aluminum section of the oil pan to the cylinder block
1. Remove the oil filler cap.
2. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
3. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
4. Remove the engine mudguard.
5. Drain the engine oil and unscrew the oil filter.
6. Remove the exhaust pipe.
7. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the flywheel housing guard.
8. Remove the two bolts securing the aluminum section of the oil pan to the gearbox.
9. Remove 10 bolts and two nuts securing the steel section of the oil pan and remove it.
10. Remove the oil receiver pipe with the strainer.
11. Unscrew the 17 bolts securing the aluminum section of the oil receiver to the cylinder block and remove it (see fig. The location of the bolts of the aluminum section of the oil pan to the cylinder block).
Installation
1. Clean the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.
2. Clean the mating surfaces of the steel and aluminum oil pans.
3. Apply a bead of sealant to the grooves and outside of the bolt holes on the mating surface of the aluminum oil pan.
4. Install the aluminum section of the oil pan to the cylinder block and secure with bolts.
5. Inspect the oil pump and check the condition of the oil receiver strainer.
6. Apply a coat of sealant 3-4 mm in diameter to the mating surface of the steel section of the oil pan.
7. Install the steel section of the oil pan and secure with bolts.
8. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install a new oil filter and fill the engine with oil.
