Removing
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. Remove the toothed belt and lower idler pulley.
3. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
4. Unscrew bolts and remove a tube of an oil receiver with the mesh filter.
5. Remove the generator.
6. Unscrew the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts and move the compressor to the side without disconnecting the hoses from it.
7. Unscrew the bolts and remove the A/C compressor bracket.
8. Remove the power steering bolts and move it away from the oil pump.
9. Remove the bottom idler toothed belt pulley.
10. Unscrew bolts and remove the oil pump from the engine.
11. Remove the O-ring seal. Sequentially remove the safety valve circlip, retainer, spring and valve.
12. Unscrew 8 screws and remove the oil pump cover.
13. Remove the oil pump cover and remove the pump rotors.
14. Clean the mating surfaces of the oil pump and engine block.
Examination
1. Clean all parts of the oil pump and check their condition.
2. Check the condition of the outer surface of the safety valve and the spring. If the spring or valve is damaged, they are replaced as a set.
3. Using a feeler blade, check the clearance between the pump housing and the outer rotor.
4. Using a feeler blade, check the tooth gap between the inner and outer rotor teeth.
5. Using a feeler blade, check the axial clearance of the rotors.
Installation
1. Replace the O-ring in the oil pump housing.
2. Install the outer and inner rotors into the oil pump housing, while matching the alignment marks on the oil pump rotors.
3. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the mating surface of the oil pump cover, install the cover on the oil pump housing and screw it in.
4. Lubricate the safety valve parts with clean engine oil and install them in the oil pump housing.
5. Clean the surface of the oil pump housing mating with the engine block of oil.
Apply a layer of sealant with a diameter of 2–3 mm to the mating surface of the oil pump housing.
Install the O-ring into the groove in the oil pump housing.
6. Align the groove on the inner oil pump rotor with the crankshaft key and install the oil pump on the engine block.
7. Secure the oil pump with bolts, tightening them crosswise.
8. Install the oil receiver pipe with a new gasket and secure with bolts.
9. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Add engine oil to the engine.
