It is not always easy to determine what and where in the engine requires repair: too many factors should be taken into account. High mileage of the engine is not always a prerequisite for repair and vice versa, low mileage does not guarantee the absence of the need for repair.

Increased oil consumption indicates the need to pay attention to the condition of the piston rings, oil seals and valve guides. When deciding to repair these units, make sure there are no oil leaks. Additional information on the scope of repairs can be obtained by measuring the compression in the engine cylinders.

Check the oil pressure using a pressure gauge installed instead of the oil pressure sensor. A low oil pressure indicates worn bearings or damaged oil pump.

A loss of power, uneven engine operation, knocks and mechanical noises, increased valve mechanism noise and high fuel consumption usually indicate the need for repairs, especially if all these problems occur simultaneously.
