Removing the right suspension of the power unit
Attention! When dismantling these parts, pay attention to the features of their removal. Note installation positions for gaskets, o-rings, spacers, pins, brackets, washers, bolts, and other small parts.
Installing the engine on a special stand greatly facilitates the assembly and disassembly processes. Remove the flywheel and rear o-ring before installing the engine on the stand.
In the absence of a stand, it is possible to disassemble the engine on the floor. Exercise extreme caution when working under these conditions.
If you purchased a remanufactured engine, then the following components must be rearranged from the old engine to it:
- generator and brackets;
- exhaust emission control details;
- distributor; spark plugs and high voltage wires;
- thermostat and thermostat cover;
- water pump;
- elements of the EFI system;
- intake and exhaust manifolds;
- oil filter;
- suspension of the power unit;
- clutch and flywheel.
If you are planning a complete engine overhaul, disassemble the engine into its component parts in the following order:
- intake and exhaust manifolds;
- cylinder head cover;
- toothed belt covers;
- toothed belt and pulleys;
- cylinder heads;
- oil pan;
- oil pump;
- balancer assembly (5S–FE motors);
- pistons and connecting rods;
- rear crankshaft cover;
- crankshaft and main bearings.
