Removal the right powertrain mount
Attention! When dismantling the above parts, pay attention to the features of their removal. Remember the installation positions of gaskets, sealing rings, spacers, pins, brackets, washers, bolts and other small parts.
Installing the engine on a special stand significantly simplifies the assembly-disassembly processes. Before installing the engine on the stand, remove the flywheel and rear sealing ring.
If there is no stand, the engine can be disassembled on the floor. When working in these conditions, exercise special caution.
If you have purchased a reconditioned engine, then the following components must be transferred from the old engine:
- generator and brackets;
- exhaust emission control details;
- distributor; spark plugs and high-voltage wires;
- thermostat and thermostat cover;
- water pump;
- eFI system elements;
- intake and exhaust manifolds;
- oil filter;
- powertrain suspension;
- clutch and flywheel.
If you are planning a complete engine overhaul, disassemble the engine into its component parts in the following order:
- intake and exhaust manifolds;
- cylinder head cover;
- timing belt guards;
- toothed belt and pulleys;
- cylinder heads;
- oil pan;
- oil pump;
- balancer assembly (engines 5S–FE);
- pistons and connecting rods;
- crankshaft rear cover;
- crankshaft and main bearings.
