1. When the ignition and reverse gear are switched on, the reverse lights should light up. If not, check the ignition switch, fuse, reversing lamps and reversing lamp circuit.
2. To test the operation of the reversing light switch, disconnect the electrical connector from the switch and remove the switch from the top of the transmission. Using an ohmmeter, check that the switch contacts close when the plunger is depressed and open when the switch plunger is released.
