Reverse light switch [Toyota Camry XV10]

1. When the ignition is turned on and the reverse gear is engaged, the reversing lights should come on. If not, check the ignition switch, fuse, reversing lights and the electrical circuit of the reversing lights.



2. To check the functionality of the reverse light switch, disconnect the electrical connector from the switch and remove the switch from the top of the transmission. Using an ohmmeter, check that the switch contacts close when the plunger is pressed and open when the switch plunger is released.
