The instrument cluster with Optitron display is now offered as standard equipment for all models (Fig. 1.9). The Optitron display provides excellent visibility due to the use of acrylic plastic for the protective panel and LEDs for the instrument scale illumination, which have good brightness and high contrast. On models with a sports trim, the illumination is amber. The drive of the instrument needles has been changed from the usual electromagnetic to stepper motors. This has led to increased compactness and reduced weight.
When power is supplied to the instrument cluster from the battery terminal, the stepper motor is initialized and set to the zero point of the indicator.
Large-diameter dual analog instruments are standard on all models. They feature high-contrast 3D scales. The trip meter and odometer are displayed on the LCD monitor.
