General information
1994 and 1995 models come with driver airbags (with mechanical activation). In the event of a collision, if the system's sensor registers a longitudinal impact greater than a certain value, the airbag located in the steering wheel is immediately deployed.

1 - airbag sensor release bolt,

5 - airbag sensor.

Removal the steering wheel cover
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the bottom covers #2 and #3.
2. Using an Allen key, loosen the fuse bolt until it rotates freely, and remove the trim mounting bolt cover.

3. Unscrew the two mounting bolts and remove the cover by pulling it towards you.

Checking the steering wheel pad
Replace the overlay with a new one if:
a) The airbag has deployed.
b) The surface of the overlay, sensor or igniter is damaged or deformed.
c) The airbag is damaged or not secured to the steering wheel pad.
Checking the steering wheel
1. Check the condition of the steering wheel. Replace it with a new one if:
a) The metal bracket of the steering wheel is deformed.

b) It is impossible to install a new overlay without significant effort.
Installing the steering wheel cover
1. Check that the fuse bolt is loose and can be turned without resistance.
2. Install the steering wheel cover and tighten the mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
3. Close the fuse bracket and tighten the bolt.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
4. Install the two bottom covers.
