Checking the steering and suspension [Toyota Camry XV20]

1. Check the steering gear for play. Check the shock absorbers by rocking the car up and down. Inspect the shock absorbers for leaks. Check the shock absorbers for proper mounting.

2. Inspect the steering and suspension components for damage and deformation. Check the condition of the dust boots, covers and bushings.



3. Check the wear of the ball joints (try moving the lower arm up and down with a crowbar). The hinges should not have free play, if this is not the case, they must be replaced.



4. Inspect the ball joint boots for damage and grease leaks.
