Coolant drain
1. Remove the radiator cap.
2. Place a tray under the radiator and open the radiator drain plug (arrow) and drain the coolant from the radiator.
3. After the liquid has completely drained from the radiator, slide the pan under the engine drain hole. Remove the plug and drain the coolant from the engine.
4. On four-cylinder engines, the drain port is located at the rear of the cylinder block (indicated by an arrow).
5. In a six-cylinder engine, drain holes are located on both sides of the cylinder block.
6. If the coolant has a rusty color, the cooling system must be flushed.
Flushing the cooling system
1. Remove the thermostat.
2. Tighten the drain plugs. Move the temperature control knob in the cabin to the HOT position to flush the heater heater together with the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the upper radiator hose and flush the radiator with clean running water or a special cleaner. If the radiator is heavily clogged, remove the radiator and have it flushed and/or repaired by a specialist.
Coolant fill
1. Reinstall the thermostat and reconnect the cooling system hoses.
2. Pour coolant into the radiator and into the expansion tank to the bottom mark.
3. Start and warm up the engine.
4. Add fluid to the radiator. Put on the radiator cap.
