Neutralizer for a car with a 6-cylinder engine
1, 6, 8. Gasket; 2. Front exhaust pipe; 3, 7. Bracket; 4. Neutralizer; 5. Holder
Examination
Check the condition of the neutralizer housing. To check for contamination of the internal channels, attach a vacuum gauge to the intake manifold (see subsection 3.3.3.). With the engine warmed up, check the vacuum at idle. Press and release the accelerator pedal and read the vacuum again. Repeat the test four times. If the vacuum after the 4th test is 25 mm Hg lower than at idle, there may be contamination inside the exhaust system or the neutralizer.
Replacement
Unscrew the nuts and remove the neutralizer
