Press the switch to heat or defrost the rear window (Fig. 1.73).
The key must be in the "ON" position.
The thin heater wires on the inside of the rear window will quickly provide transparency to the glass. At the same time, the indicator light will turn on, indicating that the heater is working.
The heating panels in the outside rearview mirrors will also quickly ensure that the mirror surface is clean.
To turn off the windshield heaters, press the switch again.
The system automatically switches off after approximately 15 minutes of windscreen defroster operation.
Be sure to turn off the mirror heaters when the surfaces are clean. Leaving the heater on for long periods of time can drain the battery, especially in stop-and-go driving. Heaters are not designed to dry rainwater from windows or melt snow.
If the outside rearview mirrors are covered with a thick layer of ice, use a de-icing spray before pressing the switch.

Caution: Since the mirror surfaces can become very hot, do not touch them when the heater switch is on. When cleaning the inside of the rear window, be careful not to scratch or damage the heater wires or connectors.
