Pic. 1.71. Windshield Wiper Switch Mode Diagram
To turn on the windshield wiper, move the lever to the desired position (pic. 1.71).
The key must be in position «ON».
Auto mode (position 1).
The wiper speed depends on the amount of rain and sunlight detected by the automatic wiper control sensor.
Pic. 1.72. Windshield wiper control sensor
The automatic wiper control sensor is installed on the inside of the windshield (pic. 1.72).
If the automatic wiper control speed is higher or lower than desired, turn the automatic control knob toward «-» to reduce sensitivity, and in the direction «+» to increase sensitivity.
Even if the wiper lever is in position 1, the system switches to intermittent operation in the following cases:
- when the windshield is frozen (at temperatures below -10°С);
- when the system is faulty.
In addition, if the front glass becomes very hot (above 90°C) The wipers do not operate even if the wiper lever is in position 1.
If the ignition is turned off when the wiper lever is in position 1, the wipers will not operate automatically when the ignition is turned on, even if there is raindrops on the windshield.
In this case, first move the lever to another position, then return it to position 1 again.
Attention! Be careful not to pinch your fingers with the wipers against the front glass.
Attention! Even if the wiper lever is in position 1 with the ignition on, the system operates in automatic mode in the following cases:
- - when touching the upper middle of the front glass next to the sensor;
- - when wiping the upper middle of the front glass (next to the sensor) towel, etc.;
- - at vibration of a forward glass;
- - by touching the sensor.
Note. When cleaning the windshield from the inside, be careful not to get detergent or water on the automatic wiper control sensor.
Pull the lever towards you to release washer fluid (position 5).
If the windshield wipers are off, they will operate for several cycles after blasting.
In frosty weather, use the defroster to warm up the windshield before using the washer. This will prevent the washer fluid from freezing on the windshield, obstructing your view.
Attention! When waxing the car, make sure that the washer nozzles do not clog. If the washer nozzles are clogged, do not try to clean them with sharp objects. This will damage the injectors.
