To facilitate access to the ignition switch, the ignition switch illumination turns on when any door is opened (Fig. 1.69).
After all doors are closed, the light remains on for approximately 15 seconds and then turns off.
But in the following cases the backlight turns off immediately.
- All doors are closed, the ignition key is in the "ACC" or "ON" position.
- The ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "ON" position after all side doors are closed.
- All doors are closed and locked.
If all doors are unlocked simultaneously with the key or wireless remote control key, the ignition switch illumination comes on for approximately 15 seconds and then goes off.
To prevent battery drain, the light automatically turns off when the key is removed and the door remains open for at least 20 minutes.
