Checking the working fluid level [Toyota Camry Vista-V40]

1. Place the vehicle on a horizontal surface.

2. With the engine off, check the working fluid level and top up if necessary.
  • Working fluid - ATF DEXRON® II or III

Note: if the working fluid is warm, the fluid level is in the "HOT" range on the tank or dipstick; if it is cold, it is in the "COLD" range.




3. Warm up the working fluid.

a) Start the engine and set it to idle speed.

b) Turn the steering wheel several times from lock to lock to increase the temperature of the working fluid to 80°C.

4. Check for fluid foaming or emulsification. If foaming or emulsification is present, bleed the power steering system.

5. Check for an increase in fluid level.

a) Measure the fluid level with the engine running.

b) Turn off the engine, wait a few minutes and measure the fluid level.
  • Maximum increase in liquid level is 5 mm

If the fluid level increases by more than 5, bleed the system.



6. Check the working fluid level.
