Removal
Note:
- Be careful not to damage the glow plug housing as this may cause the circuit to break and reduce the life of the glow plugs.
- Avoid getting oil or fuel on the positive spark plug terminal when cleaning.
- When checking, make sure to remove all oil from the glow plug terminal and bakelite washer with a dry cloth.
- Do not apply voltage greater than 7V as this may cause an open circuit.
1. Disconnect and remove the wiring harness.
2. Disconnect the glow plug connectors.
3. Remove the glow plugs.
Installation
1. Before installing the glow plugs, clean the glow plug mounting holes as follows:
a) Place the stop on the 6mm drill bit, 54mm from the start, as shown in the figure.

b) Place the drill bit into the glow plug hole and rotate it by hand several times until the soot is removed.
c) Using a drill bit with a diameter of 4 mm or longer, clean out the rest of the holes.
2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
