To reduce the emission of nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere along with the exhaust gases, part of the exhaust gases enters the intake manifold through the EGR valve and is re-burned.
The exhaust gas recirculation system consists of the EGR valve, EGR modulator, vacuum changeover valve (VSV), electronic control unit (ECM) and EGR temperature sensor.

1. Remove the vacuum hose, disconnect the EGR pipe from the valve, unscrew the valve mounting bolts and remove the valve from the intake manifold.
EGR vacuum modulator
1. Label and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the modulator and remove the vacuum modulator.
2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
