Scheme of operation of the exhaust gas re-burning system
To reduce the emission of nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere, along with the exhaust gases, part of the exhaust gases through the EGR valve enters the intake manifold and is re-burned.
Exhaust gas re-burning system consists of EGR valve, EGR modulator, vacuum switching valve (VSV), electronic control unit (ECM) and EGR system temperature sensor.
Replacement
EGR valve
1. Remove the vacuum hose, disconnect the EGR pipe from the valve, unscrew the valve mounting bolts and remove the valve from the intake manifold.
Vacuum EGR modulator
1. Mark and disconnect vacuum hoses from the modulator and remove the vacuum modulator.
2. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
