Adjustment
When moving the gear selector lever from neutral to other positions, it should move smoothly and lock firmly. At the same time, the lever position indicator should indicate the correct lever position. If the indicator does not show the correct lever position, adjust the gear selector cable as follows.
1. Raise the car and secure it on stands. Remove the mudguards.

2. Loosen the nut securing the gear selector cable pivot bolt to the gear selector lever of the transmission.

3. Move the gear selector lever all the way down, then move it back 2 positions and set it to neutral.
4. Set the gear selector lever inside the vehicle to neutral position.
5. Tighten the nut securing the shift cable pivot bolt to the gearshift lever.
6. Check the operation of the gearbox in each position of the gear selector lever. When starting the engine, the starter should only operate in the PARK or NEUTRAL position of the gear selector lever.
