Fuse box location (Avalon)
The fuse box on Avalon vehicles is mounted under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column.
Relay and fuse box (Solara and Camry)
On Solara and Camry vehicles, a single relay and fuse box is located in the engine compartment. On Avalon vehicles, the relay and fuse boxes are separate.
Relay location
Some of the relays are mounted next to the suspension cap on the driver's side.
The circuits of the electrical equipment of the car are protected by fuses, circuit breakers or fusible jumpers. The fuse mounting block is mounted inside the passenger compartment or in the engine compartment, depending on the year of manufacture and car model.
Fuses are installed on knife-type contacts and are removed by hand.
A blown fuse is easily detected by its appearance.
You can also check the voltage at the terminals. The fuse is blown if the voltmeter shows voltage. To replace the fuse, remove the defective one and insert a new one by pushing it into the socket.
The rated current of the new fuse must exactly match the current of the one being replaced. The rated current is indicated on the fuse. Do not use pieces of wire instead of a fuse. If the new fuse blows immediately, find the cause and fix it. As a rule, burnout is caused by a short circuit of the wires due to chafing of the insulation.
