Pull the hood release lever. It will open upwards with a springy movement.
At the front of the vehicle, pull up on the auxiliary latch lever and lift the hood.
Keep the hood open by inserting a support rod into the gap.
Before closing the hood, check that there are no tools, rags, etc. left inside and return the support rod to its clip - this will prevent rattling. Then lower the hood and make sure it clicks into place.
