Pull up the seatback release lever 1 to the release position.
Pull up release button 2.
Fold down the seatback.
Each backrest can be folded separately. This will increase the luggage compartment to the backs of the front seats.
Attention! When returning the seat back to the upright position, make sure that the seat belts are not twisted or pinched under the seat back, but are in their proper position and ready for use; make sure that the seat back is secure by pushing back and forth on the top of the seat back.
When folding down the left seatback, if luggage in the extended trunk could damage the rear center seat belt buckle, disconnect the belt to prevent damage.
Preventing Damage to the Rear Center Seat Belt Bar
Push release button buckle (light gray) to release presser foot 1 (bent end) and let the belt retract.
Attention! Detach the rear center seat belt only under the above circumstances; do not disconnect it in any other cases.
Remove the belt from the jumper guide.
Allow the belt to fully retract and insert the foot into the slot.
After returning the seat back to the upright position, be sure to properly connect the center seat belt to be ready for use.
- A) Pass the rear center seat belt through the seat belt guide;
- b) insert presser foot 1 (with concave end) buckle with light gray buckle release button.
You will hear a click as the foot snaps into place in the buckle.
Attention! Do not insert presser foot 1 (with concave end) into a buckle other than the one with the light gray buckle release button. After inserting the foot, make sure it clicks into place in the buckle.
Attention! Do not insert coins, paper clips, etc. into the buckle as this may prevent the tab from snapping into the buckle.
Make sure that the belt is not twisted or pinched under the seat, that it is in the correct position and ready for use.
If the seat belt does not function properly, contact your Toyota dealer immediately. Do not use the seat until the seat belt has been repaired.
