Pic. 1.141. System warning lamp «ABS»
System warning lamp «ABS» (without vehicle stability control vehicle) (pic. 1.141).
This light will come on when the ignition key is turned to the «ON». If the anti-lock brake system and auxiliary brake system are working properly, the warning light will turn off after a few seconds. Accordingly, if the system is faulty, the light signal will be displayed again.
If the system indicator light comes on «ABS» (and the brake system warning light is off), the anti-lock brake system and auxiliary brake system do not work, but the brake system works as usual.
When the system indicator light is on «ABS» (and the brake system warning light is off), this means that the anti-lock braking system is not working, so the wheels may lock up when braking hard or when braking on slippery road surfaces.
If one of the following conditions occurs, this will indicate a malfunction in the elements controlled by the warning system. Contact your Toyota dealer as soon as possible to have your vehicle serviced.
- The warning light does not come on when the ignition key is turned to the «ON», or remain enabled.
- The light signal is displayed while driving.
Briefly turning on the control lamp during operation does not indicate a problem.
Attention! If the system indicator lamp «ABS» illuminates along with the brake warning light, stop your vehicle immediately in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer.
Attention! In this case, not only the anti-lock braking system will not work; the car will also be extremely unstable during braking.
