Diagnostics of the cooling system fan operation [Toyota Camry XV30]

When the ECU detects a malfunction, the ECU diagnoses and stores the error. In addition, the check engine warning light in the instrument cluster lights up or flashes to inform the driver.

The engine control module will also store diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Diagnostic trouble codes can be accessed using a handheld tester.

Note: The time required to clear the control module memory of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by disconnecting the battery has been increased from 10 sec (on previous models) up to 1 min.
