Air must be removed from the system after disconnecting the hydraulic elements of the system.
1. Remove the lid of the feed tank and check the liquid level.
2. With the engine off, slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to remove air from the system. Repeat this operation until the fluid level in the reservoir decreases significantly. Start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to remove air from the system. Repeat this operation until air bubbles no longer appear in the feeder tank.
3. If there is abnormal noise in the power steering hydraulic system, this indicates that there is still air in the system.
4. After removing air from the system, turn off the engine and allow the system to cool. Check the fluid level in the reservoir, which should be at the upper mark.
