Heater control panel elements
A – temperature control knob;

1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
Warning: If your radio has an anti-theft code, make sure you have the connection codes before disconnecting the battery.
Caution! On models from 1993 onwards, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period of time. If the airbag warning light comes on and remains on after the battery is reconnected, contact a specialist workshop to restore the system to working order.
2. Remove the instrument cluster trim and remove the radio.
3. Remove the control handles.
4. Unscrew the 4 screws securing the heater control panel.
5. Pull the heater control panel forward, leaving the temperature control knob in place (see Fig. Elements of the heater control panel).
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Adjusting the control cable
1. To adjust the air distribution control cable, set the control lever to the "fresh air" position and secure the cable housing with the clamp.
2. To adjust the intake air temperature control cable, set the lever to the "cold" position and secure the cable housing with the clamp.

Checking the Heater Fan Switch
1. Check that contacts 2 and 5 of the air conditioner switch close when the switch is turned on.
2. Using a tester connected to the control unit connector, check the functionality of the switches (see fig. Checking the serviceability of the electrical circuit on the control unit connector).
3. Using a tester, check the functionality of the switch (see fig. Checking the heater fan switch).
