The coolant temperature sensor is a thermistor that changes its resistance depending on the temperature. As the sensor temperature decreases, its resistance increases, and as the temperature increases, its resistance decreases.
1. To test the coolant temperature sensor, measure its resistance at different temperatures.
2. If necessary, check the coolant temperature sensor electrical circuit.
3. To remove the sensor, remove the electrical connector from it and unscrew the sensor.
