Checking the resistance between the contacts of the air flow meter connector on the 3VZ-FE V6 engine
The air flow meter measures the amount of air entering the engine. Based on the information from the air flow meter, the ECM changes the amount of fuel supplied to the engine. The magnitude of the signal generated by the air flow meter depends on the position of the measuring plate.
1. Remove the air flow meter.
2. Check the air flow meter for cracks or other damage.
3. Check that the measuring plate moves freely and without binding. Measure the resistance between the contacts of the air flow meter connector.
