1. Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar between the metal and rubber parts of the transmission mount.
2. When moving the mount to the sides, check that the gearbox does not move much. Otherwise check up integrity of a rubber element of a support of fastening of a transmission.
3. To replace the gearbox mounting support, support the gearbox with a jack, unscrew the bolts and nuts and remove the support.
4. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
Removing

1. Remove the hood.
2. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system.
3. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the cruise control actuator.
5. Remove the battery and battery stand.
6. Remove the air intake and air filter cover. Disconnect the fuel lines from the engine and plug them.
7. Remove the fuel filter and fuel filter bracket.
8. Remove the charcoal canister along with the bracket.
9. Remove the windshield washer reservoir and expansion tank.
10. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle control lever.
11. Tag and disconnect all vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, electrical connectors and ground straps.
12. Remove the radiator fan and fan shroud. Drain the coolant from the cooling system, remove the radiator and disconnect the hoses from the heater.
13. Disconnect the gear select cable from the gear select lever.
14. Raise the vehicle and secure it on stands. Remove wheels.
15. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
16. Remove mud flaps.
17. Drain the engine oil.
18. Remove drive belts.
19. Drain the gearbox oil.
20. Disconnect the drive shafts from the gearbox.
21. On models with power steering, unscrew the power steering pump mounting bolts and move the pump to the side without disconnecting the hoses from it.
22. On models with an air conditioning system, unscrew the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts and move it to the side without disconnecting the hoses from it.
23. Disconnect the hoses from the transmission oil cooler and plug them immediately. On models with four-cylinder engines, remove the oil filter and oil cooler. To access the torque converter drive plate, unscrew the bolts and remove the protective plate (see fig. An arrangement of bolts of fastening of a protective plate on the four-cylinder engine and fig. The location of the bolts of the protective plate on the six-cylinder engine). Unscrew the 6 bolts securing the drive plate to the torque converter, while turning the crankshaft to access the mounting bolts.
24. Hook the engine together with the gearbox to the hoist and raise it just enough so that the weight of the engine is supported by the hoist.
25. Remove the power unit mounting bolts.
26. Being careful, slowly take the engine together with a transmission from a motor compartment of the car.
27. Lower the power unit onto blocks of wood and position it so that a jack can be placed under the gearbox.
28. Remove the starter.
29. Supporting the gearbox with a jack, unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
30. Move the gearbox away from the engine and remove it. When doing this, be careful not to remove the torque converter from the transmission input shaft.
31. Remove the torque converter from the transmission input shaft.
Installation
1. Install the torque converter on the transmission input shaft.
2. Being careful, install the gearbox on the engine, while turning the torque converter so that the bolt holes in the torque converter and the drive plate are aligned.
3. Fasten the gearbox to the engine with bolts, tightening them to the required torque.
4. Being careful, slowly install the gearbox with the engine into the engine compartment of the car.
5. Fasten the gearbox to the engine with bolts, tightening them to the required torque.
6. Being careful, slowly install the gearbox with the engine into the engine compartment of the car.
7. Install the power unit supports and secure them with bolts.
8. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
9. Pour coolant into the cooling system, engine oil into the engine, and oil into the transmission.
