Receiver, Speakers and Antenna — Removal and Installation [Toyota Camry XV20]

1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

Receiver



2. Remove the central instrument panel trim (see subsection 11.23.).


3. Loosen the screws (arrows) and pull the receiver towards you, disconnect the antenna plug (A) and connector (B). Remove the receiver.

4. Install the receiver in reverse order.

Door speakers



2. Remove the door trim panel. Avalon models, unlike others, have speakers installed in the front and rear doors, and their mounting is the same.



3. Loosen the mounting screws, disconnect the connector and remove the speaker.

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

2. Remove the storage tray.

Please note: On some Solara and Camry models, the speakers are located on the sides of the storage tray, while on some Avalon models, there is one low-frequency speaker installed on the tray.


3. Remove the screws. From the trunk side, disconnect the connector and remove the speaker.

4. Install the speaker in reverse order.

High frequency speakers



These additional speakers are provided on some vehicles and are mounted in the front door.

2. Use a screwdriver to pry up the speaker, remove it and disconnect the connector.

3. Install the speaker in reverse order.

Antenna



Cars use a lattice wire antenna glued to the rear window. If reception deteriorates, check the integrity of the antenna conductors. If a break is detected, glue the conductor.
