Ignition switch and the state of the contacts on the connector at different positions of the key in the ignition switch

Examination
1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.

3. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector located at the ignition switch wires.
4. Using an ohmmeter, check the condition of the ignition switch contacts depending on the position of the ignition key (see fig. Ignition switch and state of contacts on the connector at different positions of the key in the ignition switch).
Replacement
Ignition switch parts
1 – ignition switch contact group; 2 – Key lock solenoid; 3 – ignition lock cylinder; 4 – ignition switch illumination element; 5 – ignition switch housing; 6 – ignition switch mounting bracket; 7 – upper part of the steering column
1. Remove the heating and ventilation system hose located under the steering column.
2. Remove the screws securing the rear of the ignition switch and remove the ignition switch (see fig. Ignition switch parts).

3. Remove the decorative ring from the ignition lock cylinder frame.

4. Set the ignition key in the ignition switch to the ACC position and press the lock through the hole in the ignition switch housing and use the key to remove the ignition switch cylinder.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
