Removing
Attention! Remove the radiator when the engine is cold.
Attention! Do not allow coolant to come into contact with clothing or body paintwork. Otherwise, rinse the surface with plenty of water.
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
Attention! If your radio has an anti-theft code, check that you have the pairing codes before disconnecting the battery.
Attention! On models since 1993, the airbag system is disabled if the battery is disconnected for an extended period. If the airbag warning light comes on and stays on after reconnecting the battery, take it to a specialist workshop to restore the system to normal.
2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
3. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses.
4. Disconnect the expansion tank hose from the radiator neck.
5. Remove the radiator fan.
6. On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the heat exchanger hoses from the radiator.
7. Remove the radiator mounting bolts.
8. Remove the heatsink by lifting it up from the rubber pads in the bottom frame.
9. If the radiator was removed due to a decrease in throughput, flush it with a jet of water in two directions.
10. Blow out the radiator with compressed air.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
