Checking spark plugs [Toyota Camry Vista-V40]

Note: Depending on the configuration, spark plugs with two electrodes may be installed.




1. Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs.

2. Remove the spark plugs using a 16mm spark plug wrench.

3. Clean the spark plugs using a sandblaster or a wire brush.

4. Visually inspect the spark plugs for wear on the electrodes, damage to the threads or insulator. Replace the spark plugs if necessary.

Recommended spark plugs:

3S-FE, 4S-FE:
  • ND — K20TR11
  • ND — K20R-U11

5. Adjust the gap between the electrodes by bending only the side electrode.

Nominal clearance - 1.1 mm



6. Install the spark plugs and tighten them.

Tightening torque - 18 Nm

7. Connect the high-voltage wires to the spark plugs.
