2. Connect the tachometer and stroboscope. Connect the probe of the tachometer tester to the output "IG" (-) diagnostic socket.
Note:
- Never let the tachometer lead touch "land", as this may cause damage to the switch and/or ignition coil.
- Some tachometers are not compatible with this ignition system, so check your instrument for compatibility before use.
3. Adjust the ignition timing.
A) Using a jumper, bridge the leads "TE1" And "E1" diagnostic socket.
b) Drive the engine to 1000-1500 rpm and hold it at this speed for 5 seconds, then make sure that after releasing the throttle, it returns to normal idle
V) Using a stroboscope, check the ignition timing.
Ignition timing at idle - 10°to TDC (with shorted conclusions of the diagnostic and automatic transmission selector in the position "N")
G) If necessary, loosen the two bolts and adjust the ignition timing by turning the distributor housing.
d) Tighten the two bolts and recheck the ignition timing.
Tightening torque - 20 Nm
e) Remove the jumper from the diagnostic socket.
4. Recheck the ignition timing.
Ignition timing at idle - 10-20°to TDC
Note: The timing mark on the crankshaft pulley moves within the range specified for each engine.
5. Remove the tachometer and stroboscope.
