- a) The engine is warmed up to normal operating temperature.
- b) The air filter is installed.
- c) All air intake system tubes and hoses are connected.
- d) All vacuum lines are connected.
- d) The injection system wiring connectors are connected.
- e) All additional equipment is switched off.
- g) The ignition timing (injection) angle is set correctly.
- c) The gear lever is in neutral position.
- i) Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
Note:
- Never allow the tachometer lead to touch ground as this may cause damage to the commutator and/or ignition coil.
- Some tachometers are not compatible with this ignition system, so check the compatibility of the device before use.
1. Connect the tachometer. Connect the tachometer tester probe to the "IG" (-) terminal of the diagnostic connector.
2. Check the idle speed.
a) Start the engine and increase the engine speed to 2500 rpm and maintain this speed for approximately 90 seconds. Release the throttle.
b) Check the idle speed.
Idle speed - 700 ±50 rpm
If the idle speed is not as set, check the idle air control valve.
3. Disconnect the tachometer.
