Removal the coolant pump (3S-FE, 4S-FE)
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the timing belt (subsection "Removal the timing belt").
Note: Do not remove the camshaft, oil pump and crankshaft timing pulleys.
3. Loosen the bolt and remove the generator adjustment bracket.
3S-FE, 4S-FE
4. Remove the coolant pump and cover assembly.
a) Unscrew the two nuts of the coolant bypass pipe.
b) Unscrew the three bolts in the sequence shown in the figure.
Removing and installing the coolant pump (3S-FE, 4S-FE)

c) Disconnect the coolant pump cover from the bypass pipe, and remove the coolant pump and cover assembly.
d) Remove the gasket and two O-rings from the coolant pump and bypass pipe.
5 Remove the three bolts, coolant pump and gasket.

1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the timing belt.
3. Remove the fuel injection pump drive toothed pulley and the fuel injection pump.
4. Remove the bolts and coolant pump.
Checking the coolant pump
1. Visually check for coolant leaks through connections and air vent.
2. Turn the pulley and make sure the pump shaft rotates easily and quietly. If there are any faults, replace the pump assembly.
Installing a Coolant Pump (3S-FE, 4S-FE)
1. Install the coolant pump onto the cover using a new gasket and tightening the three bolts.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
2. Install the coolant pump and cover assembly.
a) Install a new O-ring and gasket onto the coolant pump.
b) Install a new O-ring onto the coolant bypass pipe.
Removal and installation of the coolant pump (ZS-T).

6 - timing belt cover N₂3,
7 and 8 - washers,
9 - glow plug,
10 - glow plug bus,
11 - insulator washer,
12 - timing belt guide,
13 - gasket,
14 - washer,
15 - generator drive belt,
16 - crankshaft pulley,
17 - timing belt cover No.2,
18 - engine support bracket,
19 - washer,
20 - clamp,
21 - technological cover,
22 - timing belt cover,
23 - timing belt.
c) Apply soapy water to the O-ring of the coolant bypass pipe.
d) Connect the bypass pipe to the coolant pump.
d) Install the coolant pump and tighten the three bolts in the sequence shown in the figure.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
e) Tighten the two coolant bypass pipe nuts.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
3. Install the generator adjustment bracket by tightening the bolt.
- Tightening torque - 27 Nm
4. Install the timing belt (see subsection "Installing the timing belt").

5. Install the new gasket and coolant pump. Tighten the mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 18 Nm
Note: Bolt lengths (in mm) are shown in the figure.
6. Install the fuel injection pump drive toothed pulley and the fuel injection pump.
7. Install the timing belt.

8. Fill the system with coolant (see the section "Maintenance and General Checking and Adjusting Procedures").
9. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
