Attention! Be sure to replace all pads, even if one pad has reached the wear limit.
Warning! When brake pads are in operation, brake dust is generated which contains asbestos, which is harmful to health, so when cleaning brake pads, do not use compressed air or inhale the dust.
Handbrake parts on rear disc brakes
1 – brake disc; 2 – spring; 3 – spring retainers; 4 – spring; 5 – adjustment bar; 6 – front brake shoe; 7 – pin; 8 – plate; 9 – spring; 10 – brake shoe stand; 11 – gasket; 12 – rear shoe; 13 – pin; 14 – springs; 15 – rear caliper; 16 – cork; 17 – mounting bracket; 18 – handbrake lever
1. Remove the brake disc.
2. Measure the thickness of the brake pads. If the thickness of the brake pad lining is less than 0.8 mm, the brake pads must be replaced.
3. Remove the hub and hub bearing.

4. Using a special liquid, clean the brake pads.
5. Disconnect the rear brake shoe return spring from the anchor pin.
6. Disconnect the return spring from the rear brake shoe.

7. Remove the front brake shoe return spring from the anchor pin.
8. Remove the return spring from the front brake shoe.
9. Remove the rear brake shoe retaining spring plate by pressing the plate and turning it 90°.

10. Remove the brake shoe support from the top of the brake shoes.
11. Remove the front brake shoe retaining spring plate by pressing on the plate and turning it 90°.
12. Remove the adjusting bar and lower return spring.

13. Remove the pivot pin retaining bracket from the rear brake shoe.
14. Remove the handbrake lever from the rear brake shoe.
15. Apply a layer of high-temperature grease to the brake shield in the areas where the shield contacts the pads.

16. Install the handbrake lever onto the rear brake shoe and secure it with a bracket.
17. Secure the return spring to the back of the rear brake shoe.
18. Secure the return spring to the back of the front brake shoe.

19. Install the adjusting bar between the brake shoes.
20. Install the brake pads onto the brake shield and install the pad retainer and spring.
21. Install the front brake shoe return spring.

22. Install the rear brake shoe return spring.
23. Install the spring and rear brake shoe retainer.
24. Install the spring and front brake shoe retainer.

25. Correct placement of handbrake components on the brake shield.
26. Install the brake disc.
27. Remove the plug from the brake disc adjustment hole. Using a screwdriver, turn the adjustment bar wheel to spread the brake pads enough to allow the brake disc to be removed without jamming.
28. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
